About Us

The unfinished construction of Santa Engrácia was classified as a National Monument on June 15, 1910. By the law of April 26, 1916, its adaptation into a National Pantheon was established.

The monument, inaugurated as the National Pantheon on December 7, 1966, houses the tombs and cenotaphs of great figures in Portuguese history. Its mission is to honor, promote, and preserve the life and legacy of the personalities commemorated there.
