  • October – March
  • Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission at 4:40 p.m.).
  • Visitor admission and movement within the building will be organized to ensure that the recommended capacity limits are respected in all areas.
  • These measures, which will be revised whenever necessary, are intended to guarantee a safe and pleasant experience at the National Pantheon. We kindly request and appreciate the cooperation of all visitors.

  • All visitors must comply with all ticket conditions at museums, monuments and national palaces under the supervision of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal.

  • Exemptions
  • i) All citizens residing in national territory are entitled to free admission 52 days per year, at dates of their choosing.;
  • ii) Children under 12 years of age, accompanied by an adult, with unlimited access;
  • iii) Unemployed visitors residing in the European Union, with unlimited access;
  • iv) Researchers, museum and/or heritage professionals, conservators and restorers, provided they are performing their duties, with unlimited access;
  • v) Members of ICOM, ICOMOS, APOM and employees of bodies under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and professionals registered in the Register of Professionals in the Field of Culture, provided for in Article 5 of the Statute of Professionals in the Field of Culture, approved by Decree-Law No. 105/2021 of 29 November, in its current wording, with unlimited access;
  • vi) Teachers and students of any level of education, including accredited senior universities and vocational training institutions, when proven to be on a study visit, with unlimited access;
  • vii) Groups with proven financial hardship, with unlimited access;
  • viii) Members of Friends of MMP Groups integrated into Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E. P. E., and employees of institutional patrons of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E. P. E., with with unlimited access, when established in protocol;
  • ix) Employees, volunteers and interns of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E. P. E., and employees of Património Cultural, I. P., and one accompanying person, with unlimited access;
  • x) Former combatants and the widow or widower of a former combatant, holders of the cards referred to in the Former Combatant Statute, approved in Annex I of Law No. 46/2020 of 20 August, with unlimited access;
  • xi) Visitors with disabilities and one accompanying person, with unlimited access;
  • xii) Tourism or media professionals, including new digital platforms, provided they are accredited and performing their duties;
  • xiii) Visitors at corporate events or occasional situations;
  • xiv) Other situations within the legal framework;
  • b) The granting of free admission as provided for in the previous paragraph is subject to accreditation at the ticket offices or validation points, upon presentation of the corresponding official document, valid and up to date for each case;
  • c) In the case of groups, the cases provided for in points iv), vi) and vii) are subject to authorisation and prior booking by the MMP management.
  • d) Tourism professionals who are registered in the National Register of Tourist Entertainment Activities (RNAAT), the Professional Register of the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity, the Portuguese Association of Tourist Guides and Interpreters (AGIC), the National Union of Tourist Activities, Translators and Interpreters (SNATTI), or other similar national or international organisations.

  • (*) Quantity discounts cannot be combined with other discounts or free admission offers. When purchasing tickets with quantity discounts, you may be asked to purchase up to 20% of tickets for children under 12 (free). Operators can also benefit from the discount by purchasing tickets for several facilities at the same time, with the discount being applied to the final total. Except for tickets for the Belém Tower and the Monastery of the Jerónimos.
  • (**) The managing and issuance of bulk package requests is carried out through a specific channel, within the competent service of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E. P. E. Tickets purchased in bulk packages are valid for a period of 6 months and cannot be extended or revalidated. They may be subject to prior booking, which must be made on the website of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E. P. E.

  • Quantity discounts do not apply to Circuit Tickets.
  • All discounts applied to individual tickets are not applicable to Circuit Tickets or guided tours.
  • Smoking and eating are prohibited throughout the tour circuit.

  • c) Guided tours by MMP staff during opening hours – for groups of up to 20 people (only available at some MMPs), subject to MMP availability. €60.00 (plus the cost of the admission ticket)
  • d) Guided tours outside opening hours, with a maximum number of people to be defined by the MMP management (only available at some MMPs) Admission ticket applicable, plus 100%, and the cost of human resources assigned to the requested service.
  • Smoking and eating are prohibited anywhere on the tour circuit.

    How to Get There

    By Bus

    Arrive directly at the monument’s entrance by taking the bus lines that stop at “Panteão Nacional” and “Campo de Santa Clara,” both just a few minutes’ walk from the entrance: 704, 712, 728, 734, 735, 745, 759, 781, and 782, as well as tram 28.

    By Train

    Get off at Lisboa Santa Apolónia train or metro station (blue line) and, in less than a 10-minute walk, you’ll reach the National Pantheon, passing through one of the city’s most authentic area

    By Car

    Enter “Panteão Nacional” or “Campo de Santa Clara, 1100‑471 Lisbon” in your GPS and use the nearby public car parks and street parking, then complete the route on foot through the historic neighbourhood. The monument’s coordinates are 38º42’53.15’’N, 9º07’30.50’’W.
